Compressed version of GTA San Andreas is the next thing to go with when you want to play the game but you don't have enough data to download the original file of 1.8gb size.
And while the original obb data occupies 2.5gb space on your phone storage after extraction, the compressed version of GTA SA takes up max. of 1gb and the download size is about 400MB only.
GTA SA Game Compressed Data
All high graphics games on Android OS requires an extra file known as "obb" to function. This obb contains all the graphics, videos and others, bundled together in a single file. However, to compress this obb to small size, third party developers had to split this file into its separate content and remove some parts of the file which includes video and cut scenes in the game. So you won't be able to enjoy the acting scenes in the game if you decided to go with the compressed version.
There are many versions of the compressed GTA file released by androgamer - a third party android games developer. We'll look at the two most recent versions released as at the time of writing this article - that is version 10 and 11.

Another thing to note before going down there and start downloading is that there are three different types for each version of the compressed data.
- Andreno
- Mali
- PowerVR
The type of your phone hardware (GPU) will determine which one will work for you.
To check your phone GPU model, follow the below procedure:
- Download and install CPU-Z app from Google Play Store, open the app and scroll down to GPU renderer. Here you will find the type of the game data you'll download below.
Version 10 - Download Compressed Obb & Apk
Apk file:
- v1.08 for Android 4.0 & above - Download here
Obb Data:

Important note about v10:
- It doesn't support Cleo cheats but you can use JCheater app to apply cheat in the game.
- It's not very stable. If the game crashes often, use the other version below.
Version 11 - Download Compressed Obb & Apk

Important note about v11:
- It's very stable as compared to v10 and support Cleo cheats but the downside is that it doesn't have any of the standard GTA SA missions.
- To play the game, you have to load the Save Game file that comes with the obb file.
- You can still play non finite missions such as Trucking, Quarry, Robbery, Vigilante and others.
Procedure to Install GTA Compressed Data/Obb
- Ensure you have properly downloaded both the Apk and compressed data that works for your phone.
- Install the Apk but don't open it yet!.
- Download and install RAR archiver app on Google Play Store.
- Open RAR app and navigate to the folder where you downloaded the obb file.
- Tap on the obb file to open, enter androgamer as password and select the folder named "com.rockstargames.gtasa".
- Click "Extract" from the Menu and on the next page, click "Browse".
- Navigate to your phone storage then to Android >> data folder and click "Ok".
- Tick "Keep broken files".
- Press "Ok" to start extracting the obb data file to Android/data folder.
- It's advisable that you don't minimise the app during the process so that you won't get any error.
- Once extraction completes, launch the Apk file. Allow storage access if prompted then Click "Offline" and tap on "Start Game".
- For v10 data: click "New Game" to start afresh.
- For v11 data: click "Load Game" and tap on the Save Game to start playing.
